Possible Causes
Defective door lock assembly, Misaligned door latch, Broken door handle or latch hook, Wiring fault between lock and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Do not force the door open with tools that may damage the seal or glass.
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the door area for clothing trapped between the door and gasket that may prevent locking.
- Listen for lock: When starting a cycle (with power), you should hear a click from the door lock. If no sound, the lock may not be energizing.
- Inspect latch and hook: Check the metal or plastic latch hook on the door for damage or looseness. Tighten screws or replace the hook if broken.
- Access door lock: Remove the front retaining band of the door gasket and peel the gasket back near the lock. Unscrew the door lock assembly and pull it out carefully.
- Check wiring: Inspect the connector for burns or loose pins. Reseat firmly.
- Replace lock if needed: If the lock is physically damaged or tests open with a multimeter, install a new Hisense-compatible door lock assembly and reassemble the gasket and band.
