Possible Causes

Blocked or kinked pressure switch hose, Faulty pressure switch, Stuck-open water inlet valve, Control board water level sensing fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer immediately if it is overfilling. Turn off the water taps.

  • Check for continuous filling: With the machine unplugged and taps open, observe if water continues to enter. If so, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
  • Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top cover. Locate the pressure switch (usually a round device with a small rubber hose attached). Follow the hose down to the tub and ensure it is not kinked, split, or blocked with soap residue. Clean or replace as needed.
  • Blow through the hose: Disconnect the hose from the pressure switch and gently blow through it toward the tub. It should be clear. Reconnect securely.
  • Visual check of wiring: Inspect the wiring to the pressure switch for loose connectors or corrosion. Reseat connectors.
  • Test cycle: Restore power and run a short cycle while monitoring the fill level. If the machine still overfills or E04 reappears, the pressure switch or control board may be faulty.

Overfill conditions can cause flooding and electrical hazards. If you are not comfortable testing the pressure switch or control board, contact a professional technician.
