Possible Causes

Faulty door lock control circuit on PCB, Shorted door lock coil, Wiring short between lock and PCB, Incorrect voltage detected on safety line

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before inspecting the door lock or control board.

  • Check child lock: Ensure the child lock function is not active (refer to the user manual for your SMEG model to deactivate it).
  • Inspect door lock: As with E01, access the door interlock and check for signs of burning or melted plastic. Replace if damaged.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the door lock to the PCB for pinched or shorted wires, especially where it passes through the cabinet.

If the door lock and wiring are sound, E15 likely indicates a PCB fault. PCB-level repairs should be left to a professional.
