Washer door will not lock at the start of a cycle; the machine will not begin washing.

Safety first: Unplug the washer before adjusting hinges or replacing the lock.

• Check door alignment: Close the door slowly and observe if the latch lines up with the lock opening. If the door sags, adjust or tighten the hinges.
• Inspect latch and strike: Look for wear or damage on the door catch. Replace if rounded or broken.
• Listen for lock click: When starting a cycle, you should hear a click as the lock engages. If not, the interlock may be faulty and require replacement.

Do not attempt to bypass the door lock electrically; this is unsafe. Replace the faulty components instead.
