Possible Causes
Slipping drive belt, Foreign object trapped between drum and tub, Overheating motor, Electrical arcing at connectors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Stop the cycle immediately, unplug the washer, and do not continue using it until the cause is found.
- Inspect belt and pulleys: Remove the rear panel and check for rubber dust or a shiny, glazed belt. Replace if slipping.
- Check for trapped objects: Look through drum holes and, if necessary, remove the heater to inspect for items rubbing on the drum.
- Smell test: Carefully sniff near the motor and PCB (with power off) to localize the burning odor. Do not touch components that may still be hot.
Any sign of melted plastic, burnt wiring, or arcing requires professional repair before the washer is used again.
