SMEG
Extended Cycle Duration
Washer takes much longer than the displayed time to complete a cycle.

Possible Causes
Automatic load sensing adjusting time, Slow heating due to scaled heater, Repeated rebalancing attempts before spin, Slow filling or draining
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before cleaning filters or inspecting internal parts.
- Check water temperature and pressure: Ensure the inlet water is at normal pressure and that the heater is functioning (clothes should feel warm on hot cycles).
- Clean pump filter and inlet filters: Remove debris that may slow filling or draining.
- Avoid overloading: Large, heavy loads can cause the machine to spend extra time rebalancing before spin.
- Run a descaling cycle: Use a descaler suitable for washing machines to remove limescale from the heater and tub, improving heating efficiency.
Some variation in cycle time is normal due to SMEG's load and foam sensing. If cycles become excessively long without clear cause, a technician should check sensors and heater performance.
