Possible Causes

Failed heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose heater wiring, Defective heater relay on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and allow time for internal components to cool before touching the heater area.

  • 1. Confirm symptom: Run a hot wash program and check if the door glass and water become warm after 15–20 minutes. If not, proceed with checks.
  • 2. Access the heater: On many Toshiba front-loaders, the heater is mounted at the bottom of the tub, accessible from the rear panel. Disconnect the wiring connectors.
  • 3. Test the heating element: Measure resistance across the heater terminals with a multimeter. Typical values are 20–40 Ω; infinite resistance indicates a broken element.
  • 4. Check the NTC sensor: The temperature sensor is often mounted in the same bracket as the heater. Measure its resistance at room temperature and compare with Toshiba specs. Replace if out of range.
  • 5. Inspect wiring and PCB: Look for burnt connectors or loose wires. If heater and sensor are good, the heater relay or control board may be defective and require professional replacement.
