Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and close the water supply valves before disconnecting hoses.
- 1. Verify water supply: Ensure both hot and cold faucets (if applicable) are fully open. Check household water pressure by opening a nearby tap.
- 2. Inspect inlet hoses: Pull the washer forward and check that the hoses are not kinked or crushed. Straighten or replace damaged hoses.
- 3. Clean inlet filters: Turn off water, disconnect the hoses from the back of the washer, and remove the small mesh filters inside the valve ports. Rinse them under running water to remove sand or scale, then reinstall.
- 4. Test the inlet valve: With power disconnected, access the water inlet valve assembly. Check for cracked plastic bodies or burnt connectors. Use a multimeter to test the valve coils for continuity. If a coil is open or the valve does not open when energized (test only if you are qualified), replace the valve.
- 5. Reassemble and test: Reconnect hoses, turn on water, restore power, and run a quick wash to confirm normal filling.
If E4 persists with good water pressure and a new valve, the pressure sensor or control board may be at fault and should be checked by a technician.
