Possible Causes
Leaking tub seal, Loose hose clamp, Cracked drain hose, Leaking detergent dispenser or inlet hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply. Mop up any standing water to prevent slipping and electrical hazards.
- 1. Inspect visible hoses: Check the inlet hoses at the back and the drain hose for drips, cracks, or loose connections. Tighten clamps and replace damaged hoses.
- 2. Check inside the cabinet: Remove the rear or side panel to look for water trails. Pay attention to the tub-to-pump hose, pump body, and dispenser-to-tub hose.
- 3. Examine the door seal (front-load): Look for tears, holes, or mold damage on the rubber bellows. Clean the seal and replace if damaged.
- 4. Inspect the tub seal and bearing area: Water dripping from the center of the drum shaft or from under the tub indicates a failing tub seal, which can trigger leak sensors.
- 5. Dry the leak sensor area: Many Toshiba models have a float or sensor in the base tray. Dry the tray completely and reset the machine. If leaks reappear, repair or replace the leaking component before further use.
