Possible Causes
Stuck or scaled flow turbine, Blocked inlet filter, Faulty flow sensor, Wiring fault between flow sensor and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Close the cold water inlet and disconnect power before opening any water connections.
- 1. Check inlet filter: At the cold water inlet of many Ferroli water heaters there is a mesh filter. Remove and clean it of debris and limescale.
- 2. Inspect flow sensor/turbine: Remove the flow sensor assembly (usually plastic housing with a small turbine). Check that the turbine spins freely. Clean with water and a soft brush; do not use sharp tools.
- 3. Reassemble carefully: Ensure O-rings are in good condition and correctly seated to prevent leaks. Refit the sensor and tighten connections.
- 4. Wiring check: Confirm the sensor’s electrical connector is fully engaged on the PCB and that the cable is not damaged.
- 5. Replace sensor: If the turbine is damaged or the sensor does not send pulses (technician test), replace it with the correct Ferroli flow sensor.
