Possible Causes
Faulty DHW NTC sensor, Sticking gas valve not modulating down, Incorrect temperature setting, Scaled heat exchanger causing localized overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Risk of scalding. Reduce the temperature setting immediately and warn occupants.
- 1. Lower setpoint: Turn down the Ferroli temperature control to a safe level (around 50°C) and test again.
- 2. Check DHW NTC: Replace the domestic hot water NTC sensor if readings are unstable or clearly wrong.
- 3. Descale: Have the heat exchanger descaled to improve heat transfer and reduce hot spots.
- 4. Gas valve / modulation: A technician should verify that the gas valve modulates correctly and does not remain at high fire when demand is low.
