Possible Causes
Loose sensor connector, Damaged sensor harness, Faulty control board, Incorrect sensor installation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and gas before removing covers.
- Access control compartment: Remove the front cover to expose the control board and sensor connections.
- Reseat connectors: Locate the plug from the tank temperature sensor to the control board. Unplug and firmly reconnect it several times to clean contacts.
- Inspect harness: Follow the sensor cable along the tank. Look for pinched, cut, or melted insulation. Replace the harness if damaged.
- Check sensor placement: Ensure the sensor is fully inserted into its well or firmly clamped to the tank surface as designed. Poor contact can cause erratic readings.
- Board or sensor replacement: If wiring and placement are correct but E010 persists, replace the temperature sensor first. If the issue remains, the control board may need replacement by a technician.
