Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF gas and power before removing covers. Do not repeatedly attempt ignition if you suspect a gas leak.
Steps to check:
- Verify gas supply: Confirm the gas shutoff valve is fully open and other gas appliances operate normally.
- Inspect igniter: Remove the front cover. Locate the igniter near the burner. Check for cracks, heavy carbon buildup, or loose wiring. Clean light deposits with a soft brush; do not bend the igniter.
- Check wiring harness: Ensure the igniter connector is fully seated on the control board and at the igniter.
- Reset and test: Restore gas and power, then attempt operation. Observe through the sight glass (if present) for spark and flame.
When to call a professional: If there is no spark or the unit still shows Code 07, the igniter or gas valve assembly may need replacement and gas pressure must be checked with a manometer by a licensed technician.
