Possible Causes

Stuck or scaled flow sensor turbine, Faulty flow sensor, Loose wiring to flow sensor, Debris in cold water inlet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power and close the cold and hot water isolation valves. Relieve pressure by opening a hot water tap before removing any water connections.

Steps to check:

  • Clean inlet filter: Remove and clean the cold water inlet filter screen to remove debris that may affect the flow sensor.
  • Inspect flow sensor: The flow sensor is usually located on the cold water inlet side. Remove it carefully and check for scale or debris obstructing the turbine. Rinse gently with clean water.
  • Check wiring: Ensure the flow sensor connector is secure at the sensor and control board.
  • Reassemble and test: Reinstall the flow sensor, open valves, check for leaks, restore power, and test operation.

When to call a professional: If Code 41 persists, the flow sensor may need replacement or the control board may be faulty.
