Possible Causes

No gas supply to appliance, Blocked burner or injector on Termet gas valve, Faulty ignition electrode or ignition cable, Defective gas valve coil on Termet gas block

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the gas supply at the main shutoff valve and switch OFF electrical power to the Termet water heater before removing any covers. Work in a well‑ventilated area and never test for gas leaks with an open flame.

  • Check gas supply: Verify that the gas cock to the Termet heater is fully open. Confirm that other gas appliances in the home work. If not, contact your gas supplier.
  • Reset the heater: Turn the unit OFF using the main power switch, wait 30 seconds, then turn it ON and open a hot water tap to see if ignition occurs.
  • Inspect ignition electrode: Remove the front cover (following the Termet manual). Locate the ignition electrode near the burner. Check for cracks in the ceramic, loose connections, or heavy soot. Clean the tip gently with fine sandpaper and re‑seat the connector firmly.
  • Check burner and injector: Visually inspect the main burner and injector rail for dust, rust flakes, or spider webs. Use a soft brush and vacuum to clean. Do not enlarge injector orifices.
  • Gas valve check (basic): With power OFF, inspect the wiring harness to the Termet gas valve block for loose or damaged connectors. Do not attempt internal gas valve repairs; if the coil is suspected faulty, replace the complete gas valve assembly.
  • When to call a technician: If E01 persists after cleaning and checking connections, or if you smell gas, stop using the heater and contact an authorized Termet service center for gas pressure and combustion checks.
