Possible Causes
Faulty flame ionization electrode, Poor grounding of Termet appliance, Reversed phase/neutral or low mains voltage, Defective control board flame sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before touching internal wiring. Ensure the unit is properly earthed according to Termet installation instructions.
- Check electrical supply: Verify correct mains voltage with a multimeter and ensure phase, neutral, and earth are correctly connected. Correct any reversed wiring at the supply (by a qualified person).
- Inspect flame electrode: Remove the front cover and locate the flame ionization electrode. Clean the metal rod with fine abrasive pad to remove oxidation. Ensure the ceramic is not cracked and the mounting screw is tight for good grounding.
- Check grounding: Confirm the green/yellow earth wire is firmly attached to the Termet chassis and that the supply earth is present.
- Reconnect and test: Restore power, reset the heater, and open a hot water tap to test. Observe if the flame lights and stays on.
- Control board: If the flame is clearly present but E02 still appears, the flame sensing circuit on the main PCB may be defective. Replacement of the Termet control board should be done by an authorized technician.
