Possible Causes
Sticking gas valve on Termet heater, Faulty outlet NTC sensor giving slow response, Control board PID regulation error, Limescale reducing heat transfer and causing overshoot
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Hot water can cause scalding. Reduce set temperature before testing.
- Descale heat exchanger: If in a hard water area, perform a chemical descaling of the Termet heat exchanger to restore proper heat transfer.
- Check NTC sensors: Verify both flow and outlet NTC sensors are correctly clipped to pipes and have good thermal contact. Replace if readings are unstable.
- Gas valve behavior: If the flame does not modulate down when approaching set temperature, the gas valve or control board may be faulty. This requires a technician to test and replace.
- Recalibration: Some Termet models allow service-level calibration of temperature control; this should be done by an authorized service center.
