Possible Causes
Blocked condensate trap, Frozen or kinked condensate drain pipe, Faulty condensate level sensor, Incorrect trap installation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Switch OFF power. Condensate is mildly acidic; wear gloves and eye protection.
- Check drain pipe: Ensure the condensate pipe slopes continuously downward and is not frozen or blocked. Thaw gently if frozen.
- Clean trap: Remove the condensate trap from the bottom of the Termet heat exchanger. Empty and rinse it thoroughly to remove sludge. Refill with clean water before reinstalling.
- Level sensor: If fitted, inspect the condensate level sensor and wiring. Clean any deposits from the sensor.
- Test operation: Restore power and run the heater. Verify that condensate flows freely to the drain.
- Technician: If E17 persists, have a Termet technician check the condensate system and replace the trap or sensor if necessary.
