Possible Causes

Failed frost protection sensor on Termet heater, No power to unit during freezing conditions, Blocked circulation preventing frost protection, Faulty PCB frost logic

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Protect the heater from freezing damage. If the unit is frozen, do not force operation.

  • Restore power: Ensure the heater has electrical power so that frost protection can operate.
  • Check location: If installed in an unheated space, improve insulation and protect pipes from freezing.
  • Sensor check: Inspect and test the frost protection / ambient NTC sensor. Replace if readings are incorrect.
  • Thawing: If pipes are frozen, gently thaw using warm air (not open flame). Check for leaks once thawed.
  • Technician: If E20 persists in non-freezing conditions, a Termet technician should test the sensor and PCB.
