Possible Causes

Clogged injector/nozzle-venturi, Air leak in brine line, Stuck brine valve, Blocked drain line

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Bypass the softener and relieve pressure before opening the valve or brine connections.

  • Clean injector and screen: Remove and clean the injector/nozzle-venturi and screen thoroughly.
  • Check drain line: Ensure the drain line is not kinked, frozen, or blocked. Clear any obstructions and verify the drain line flow control is clean.
  • Inspect brine line and fittings: Tighten all brine line connections and replace any cracked tubing to eliminate air leaks.
  • Brine valve function: Inspect and, if necessary, replace the brine valve or brine piston assembly in the Autotrol head.
  • Test brine draw: During a manual regeneration, mark the brine level and confirm it drops during the brine draw step.
