Possible Causes
Motor energized but jammed camshaft, Seized piston/rotor-disc, Motor winding failure under load
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and bypass the softener before working on the valve.
- Check for mechanical jam: Attempt to manually rotate the camshaft. If it is stuck, remove the valve module and inspect the piston/rotor-disc and seal pack for swelling or debris.
- Free or replace piston: Clean the valve body and replace the piston/rotor-disc and seal kit if binding.
- Test motor off-load: Disconnect the cam from the motor and briefly power the motor. If it still hums and does not turn, replace the drive motor.
- Reassemble and test: After repair, run a manual regeneration to ensure smooth operation.
