Possible Causes
Insufficient slow rinse time, Plugged drain line flow control, Incorrect cycle programming, Leaking brine valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Avoid drinking water until the issue is resolved.
- Check cycle settings: Verify that the slow rinse and fast rinse times are set according to the Autotrol manual. Increase rinse times if they were shortened.
- Inspect drain line flow control: Remove and clean the drain line flow control (DLFC) to ensure proper rinse flow.
- Check brine valve: Inspect the internal brine valve or brine piston for leakage that could allow brine into service during rinse. Replace if worn.
- Run extra rinse: Manually initiate an extra regeneration with extended rinse to flush residual salt from the resin bed.
