Possible Causes
Failed drive motor, Jammed piston or rotor-disc, Stripped cam gear, Control board output failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and place the valve in bypass. Relieve pressure before opening.
- Check mechanical movement: Remove the control cover and attempt to manually advance the camshaft through the cycles. If it will not move or is very stiff, inspect the piston/rotor-disc and seal pack for damage or swelling. Replace as needed.
- Inspect gears and cam: Look for broken or worn gear teeth on the cam assembly. Replace the cam and gear kit if any damage is found.
- Test drive motor: With the cam disconnected, apply power and command a regeneration. If the motor does not turn, test for proper voltage at the motor leads. Replace the drive motor if voltage is present but the motor is not rotating.
- Check control output: If the motor tests good but never receives power, the control board may have a failed relay or triac. Replace the electronic control board.
- Reassemble and test: After repairs, reassemble, restore water and power, and run a full regeneration to ensure the valve advances through all steps without error.
