How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Shut off power before handling wiring.
- Check meter cable: Trace the cable from the Autotrol meter/turbine to the control head. Ensure both ends are firmly connected and the cable is not cut or abraded.
- Verify programming: Confirm that the control is set to demand-initiated regeneration and that the correct meter type is selected.
- Test meter function: Run water through the softener and watch the display for flow indication or meter pulses. If no flow is detected, remove and inspect the turbine flow meter for debris and clean or replace as needed.
- Replace faulty components: If a known-good meter and cable still do not register, the control board meter input is likely defective and should be replaced.
