Possible Causes
Refill stage not programmed or disabled, Clogged refill flow control, Stuck brine valve, Control valve not opening refill port
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing any valve components.
- Check programming: Ensure a brine refill time is set in the Clearwater controller and not set to zero.
- Inspect refill flow control: Remove and clean the refill flow control orifice in the control valve.
- Observe refill: During the refill stage, look for water entering the brine tank. If none, the internal port may be blocked.
- Manually add water: As a temporary measure, add 3–4 gallons of water to the brine tank so the next regeneration can occur.
If the valve never refills the tank, the Clearwater control valve body or board may be defective.
