Possible Causes
Internal leak in Clearwater control valve, Bypass valve not fully seated, Foreign debris in valve seat, Cracked valve body
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Close inlet and outlet valves and depressurize before opening the valve body.
- Check bypass position: Ensure the Clearwater bypass is fully in SERVICE and not partially open to bypass.
- Observe meter: If the flow meter shows flow with all house fixtures closed, water is leaking internally.
- Inspect valve internals: Remove the control valve cover and inspect seals, spacers, and rotor-disc for damage or debris. Replace the Clearwater seal and spacer kit if worn.
- Check for cracks: Examine the valve body for visible cracks or warping.
If internal leaks persist after seal replacement, replace the Clearwater control valve assembly.
