Possible Causes
Failed Clearwater turbine flow meter, Debris blocking turbine or paddle wheel, Unplugged or damaged flow sensor cable, Incorrect meter type setting in controller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off water and relieve pressure before removing any meter or plumbing connections.
- Check display flow: Run a faucet and watch the Clearwater display. If flow rate or gallons do not change, the meter is not being read.
- Inspect sensor cable: Remove the control head cover and verify the flow sensor harness is firmly connected to the board and not damaged.
- Clean turbine: Close inlet/outlet valves and open a faucet to relieve pressure. Remove the Clearwater meter housing (usually on the outlet side of the valve). Carefully pull out the turbine or paddle wheel and rinse away sand or scale. Reinstall in the correct orientation.
- Verify meter setting: In the installer menu, confirm the meter type (turbine, paddle, etc.) matches the installed Clearwater meter model.
- Test again: Restore water and power, then run water and confirm the display now shows flow. Clear E06 by power-cycling or using the reset function.
If the meter still does not register, replace the Clearwater turbine flow meter assembly.
