Safety first: Unplug the softener and close the inlet valve to stop water flow before opening the valve body.

Inspect position sensor: Remove the control head cover and locate the position switch or encoder on the Clearwater valve. Ensure it is firmly mounted and the wiring harness is intact.
Check cam and gears: Observe the cam gear and drive gears for missing teeth or cracks. Replace damaged gears.
Realign rotor-disc: With the valve depressurized, remove the top cover and gently reseat the rotor-disc and seal pack according to the Clearwater service diagram. Ensure the disc is centered and not warped.
Clear debris: Look for resin beads or foreign material lodged in the valve ports that could block movement. Flush and clean as needed.
Reassemble and test: Reinstall covers, open the inlet slowly, and restore power. Initiate a manual regeneration and watch for proper cycling without E07.

If E07 persists, the position sensor or main control board may require replacement.
