Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the inlet valve before disassembling the venturi or brine line. Brine is corrosive; wear gloves and eye protection.
- Clean venturi/injector: Remove the venturi housing from the Clearwater control valve. Disassemble and soak the injector, nozzle, and screens in vinegar or manufacturer-approved cleaner to dissolve iron and scale. Rinse thoroughly.
- Inspect brine line: Check the small tubing from the brine tank to the valve for kinks, cracks, or loose fittings. Replace damaged tubing.
- Check air check: At the bottom of the brine well, ensure the air check valve moves freely and is not stuck closed with salt or debris.
- Test brine draw: Reassemble, open the inlet, and start a manual regeneration. During brine draw, mark the brine level and confirm it drops steadily. E17 should clear once normal draw is restored.
If brine still does not draw, the Clearwater control valve may have internal passage blockage and may require replacement.
