Possible Causes

Stuck brine safety float, Leaking brine valve, Control valve not completing brine draw, Drain line restriction

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the inlet valve. Brine is corrosive; wear gloves and eye protection.

  • Stop overflow: Use a wet/dry vacuum or bucket to remove excess brine and prevent floor damage.
  • Check float: Remove and clean the Clearwater brine safety float assembly. Ensure it moves freely and seals properly.
  • Inspect drain line: Verify the drain hose is not kinked or blocked, and that water flows freely to the drain during regeneration.
  • Observe brine draw: During a manual regeneration, confirm that brine level drops. If not, clean the venturi/injector and brine line.

If overfilling continues after these steps, the Clearwater control valve may be leaking internally and should be replaced.
