E01
Foridra Inlet Water Supply Fault

Control panel shows E01 and the softener does not start regeneration

Possible Causes

Closed inlet shutoff valve, Clogged inlet screen on control valve, Low or no household water pressure, Kinked or blocked inlet hose to Foridra valve head

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off electrical power to the Foridra water softener and close the main water supply before disassembling any plumbing. Relieve pressure by opening a nearby cold-water faucet.

  • Check inlet valve: Verify the dedicated shutoff valve feeding the Foridra softener is fully open. Many installations have a bypass manifold; ensure the softener is not in bypass.
  • Inspect inlet hose: Look for kinks, sharp bends, or crushing on the flexible line feeding the Foridra control valve. Straighten or replace if damaged.
  • Clean inlet screen: On most Foridra valve heads, there is a small mesh screen at the inlet port. Remove the inlet fitting, pull out the screen with needle-nose pliers, rinse under running water, and reinstall.
  • Check household pressure: Confirm you have normal water pressure at other faucets. If pressure is low everywhere, the issue is upstream (well pump, pressure regulator, or municipal supply).
  • Reset the unit: Restore power, then press and hold the REG or RESET button (depending on model) for 5–10 seconds to clear E01. If the code returns, the inlet flow sensor or valve body may need service.
