Possible Causes
Fouled Foridra hardness sensor, Sensor cable damage, Incorrect sensor calibration, Failed conductivity probe electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and close the inlet valve before removing any in-line sensors.
- Locate sensor: The Foridra hardness or conductivity sensor is typically installed in a small in-line housing on the outlet side of the softener.
- Clean sensor tip: Remove the sensor and gently clean the probe surfaces with a soft brush and vinegar to remove scale or iron deposits. Rinse thoroughly.
- Check cable and connector: Inspect for cuts, abrasions, or loose plugs. Reseat the connector on the control board.
- Recalibrate: Enter the service menu and run the hardness sensor calibration procedure as described in the Foridra manual.
- Replace sensor: If readings remain erratic or E10 persists, replace the Foridra hardness/conductivity sensor assembly.
