Softener brine tank forms hard salt crust (salt bridge) and stops using salt

Safety: Wear gloves and eye protection when breaking salt bridges.

• Probe for bridge: Insert a broom handle into the Foridra brine tank and gently push down. If you feel a hollow space under a hard layer, a bridge is present.
• Break bridge: Carefully break the crust into smaller pieces, avoiding damage to the tank walls or float assembly.
• Remove debris: Scoop out any muddy or contaminated salt and replace with fresh, high-purity salt.
• Prevent recurrence: Keep the salt level below the top of the brine well and avoid overfilling.
