Possible Causes
Stiff or seized Foridra bypass valve, Internal valve rotor jammed, Incorrect installation of bypass, Broken bypass handle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Depressurize the system before forcing any valve movement. Do not use excessive force on plastic handles.
- Verify handle position: Confirm the Foridra bypass handle is fully turned to the service position as indicated on the body.
- Lubricate O-rings: If the bypass is stiff, remove it (if serviceable) and lubricate O-rings with silicone-based lubricant approved for potable water.
- Check for internal jam: If the main valve is stuck in bypass internally, remove the valve head and inspect the rotor and seals for debris or damage.
- Replace bypass: If the bypass body is cracked or the handle mechanism is broken, replace the Foridra bypass assembly.
