Foridra No Brine Draw or Refill

Softener uses very little or no salt (salt level never seems to drop)

Possible Causes

Clogged brine injector, Stuck brine float, Blocked brine line, Disabled regeneration, Foridra valve not entering brine draw stage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit and wear gloves when working with brine.

  • Check regeneration history: Confirm the Foridra softener has actually been regenerating (check display logs if available).
  • Inspect brine tank: Look for salt bridges or solidified salt. Break up any crust and ensure there is water at the bottom.
  • Clean injector and brine line: Remove and clean the Foridra brine injector and flush the brine line (see E03).
  • Test float: Ensure the brine float moves freely and is not stuck in the closed position.
  • Manual regen test: Start a manual regeneration and watch for brine level drop. If none, the valve may not be entering brine draw and may need service.
