Possible Causes
Worn rotor and seal pack in Foridra valve, Cracked valve body, Loose plumbing fittings, Damaged O-rings on tank adapter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately place the softener in bypass and shut off water if leak is severe. Unplug the unit before disassembly.
- Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water emerges: from the tank/valve junction, side ports, or top cover.
- Tighten fittings: Carefully snug any threaded connections to the Foridra valve, avoiding over-tightening plastic parts.
- Replace O-rings: If leaking at the tank/valve connection, remove the valve head, inspect and replace the large tank O-ring and any port O-rings with Foridra-approved parts.
- Rotor/seal replacement: If water seeps from the valve body or out the drain during service, install a new Foridra rotor and seal kit.
- Replace valve head: If the plastic valve body is cracked, replace the entire Foridra control valve head.
