Possible Causes
Mis-calibrated flow meter, Electrical noise on sensor wiring, Incorrect meter size setting in controller, Defective flow sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before changing wiring or meter settings.
Verify no leaks:
- Ensure all faucets and fixtures are closed. Check for hidden leaks (running toilets, dripping faucets) that could cause real flow.
- If flow is truly zero but the display shows flow, suspect a sensor or calibration issue.
Check meter settings:
- Enter the controller’s setup menu and verify the meter size and type match the installed Kinetico valve (consult the model label and manual).
- Correct any mismatched settings and save.
Inspect sensor and wiring:
- Locate the flow sensor/turbine wiring harness and inspect for damage, splices, or routing near high-voltage lines that could induce noise.
- Reroute the cable away from power lines if possible and ensure all connectors are tight.
Test:
- Restore power and observe the flow reading with no water use. It should read zero.
- Open a faucet and confirm that the flow reading responds appropriately.
- If Err 08 persists, replace the flow sensor/turbine assembly.
