How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the system is not in BYPASS if you expect soft water.
Check bypass and flow:
- Verify the Kinetico bypass valve is in the SERVICE position.
- Open a faucet and confirm water is flowing through the softener (watch the meter display for flow).
Controller settings:
- Enter the programming mode and check for any regeneration inhibit or vacation mode settings. Disable them if not needed.
- Verify hardness and capacity settings are correct so the unit can schedule regenerations properly.
Manual regeneration:
- Initiate a manual regeneration cycle according to the manual.
- If the unit will not start regeneration or stops immediately, investigate for motor, valve, or sensor faults as indicated by any accompanying error codes.
