How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No immediate hazard, but avoid opening pressurized components without depressurizing.
Review controller status:
- Access the service menu on the controller to view any stored error codes or service reminders.
- Record any codes and address them individually (flow sensor, motor, brine, etc.).
Basic maintenance:
- Check salt level and condition of the brine tank.
- Inspect for leaks around the control valve and plumbing connections.
- Verify that the unit is regenerating on schedule and that water hardness after the softener is within expected range.
Reset indicator:
- If no active faults are present and the message is a time-based service reminder, follow the manual to reset the service interval.
- If the indicator returns quickly or is accompanied by other errors, schedule a professional Kinetico service visit.
