Softener does not draw brine from the brine tank during regeneration; water level in brine tank never goes down.

Safety first: Bypass the softener and relieve pressure before disconnecting any lines.

Brine line and fittings:

• Inspect the brine line for kinks, pinches, or cracks.
• Check all push-fit or compression fittings for tightness and intact O-rings.

Injector cleaning:

• Remove and clean the injector/venturi assembly as described in the injector error procedure.

Brine valve and float:

• Inspect the brine float assembly in the brine well for salt buildup or mechanical binding.
• Ensure the float moves freely up and down and that the air check at the bottom is not stuck closed.

Test:

• Restore service and run a manual regeneration.
• Observe the brine line during brine draw; you should feel suction and see the brine level drop.

Resolution: If there is still no brine draw after cleaning and inspection, the internal brine valve or seals in the control head may be defective and require professional service.
