Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Bypass the softener and relieve pressure before disconnecting any lines.
Brine line and fittings:
- Inspect the brine line for kinks, pinches, or cracks.
- Check all push-fit or compression fittings for tightness and intact O-rings.
Injector cleaning:
- Remove and clean the injector/venturi assembly as described in the injector error procedure.
Brine valve and float:
- Inspect the brine float assembly in the brine well for salt buildup or mechanical binding.
- Ensure the float moves freely up and down and that the air check at the bottom is not stuck closed.
Test:
- Restore service and run a manual regeneration.
- Observe the brine line during brine draw; you should feel suction and see the brine level drop.
Resolution: If there is still no brine draw after cleaning and inspection, the internal brine valve or seals in the control head may be defective and require professional service.
