Water softener leaks brine or salty water from the brine tank or brine line connections.

Safety first: Saltwater is corrosive; protect nearby metal surfaces and electrical devices. Bypass the softener if leak is significant.

Inspect brine tank:

• Look for cracks along the sides and bottom of the brine tank.
• Check the brine well tube for proper seating and cracks.

Brine line and fittings:

• Tighten or reseat brine line fittings at both the control head and brine tank.
• Replace any damaged tubing or O-rings.

Overfill issues:

• If the tank is overfilled with water, remove excess water and correct any brine valve issues causing overfill (see brine overfill fault).

Resolution: Replace a cracked brine tank or float assembly as needed. Ensure all connections are secure and test during a regeneration cycle for leaks.
