Display shows ERR 06; time-of-day may be incorrect and scheduled regenerations occur at wrong times or not at all.

Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.

• Check power source: Verify the outlet provides stable 120V (or local standard). Avoid plugging the softener into switched outlets or power strips that are frequently turned off.
• Reset time: Set the correct time-of-day and regeneration time. Observe whether the clock keeps accurate time over 24 hours.
• Inspect board: Remove the control board and look for a small backup battery or supercapacitor. If visibly leaking or damaged, the board should be replaced.
• Surge protection: If you’ve had recent storms or power issues, consider installing a surge protector dedicated to the softener circuit.
• Board replacement: If ERR 06 persists and the clock will not hold time, replace the Pentair electronic control board.
