Possible Causes
Clogged Pentair injector/nozzle, Blocked brine line, Stuck brine float, Air leak at brine line fittings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Shut off water and relieve pressure before opening the valve or disconnecting brine lines. Unplug power.
- Check brine level change: Start a manual regeneration and observe the brine tank during brine draw. If the brine level does not drop, there is a draw problem.
- Clean injector: Remove the injector/nozzle and throat from the Pentair valve body. Soak in vinegar or a manufacturer-approved cleaner to remove iron and scale. Rinse thoroughly.
- Inspect brine line: Check the tubing from the valve to the brine well for kinks, clogs, or air leaks. Tighten or replace compression fittings as needed.
- Float assembly: Ensure the brine float moves freely and is not stuck in the up position. Clean any salt sludge from the float tube.
- Test draw: Reassemble and run another regeneration. Confirm the brine level drops several inches during the brine draw stage and that ERR BRINE clears.
