Softener produces salty-tasting water after regeneration.

Safety: Do not drink water that tastes salty until the issue is resolved. No special electrical precautions beyond unplugging for valve work.

• Check programming: Ensure the rapid rinse and/or brine rinse times are set to Pentair specifications for your model.
• Drain flow: Confirm strong flow at the drain during rinse cycles. Clean the Pentair drain flow control and drain line if restricted.
• Salt dose: If using a very high salt setting, reduce the salt dose to a level appropriate for your hardness and capacity needs.
• Flush system: After adjustments, run several tankfuls of water through the system to clear residual salt.
