Possible Causes
Damaged tank O-ring, Cracked Pentair control valve body, Loose tank adapter, Over-pressurization
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Shut off inlet and outlet valves and depressurize by opening a downstream faucet. Unplug power.
- Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water appears—around the tank neck, valve body seam, or fittings.
- Check fittings: Tighten any loose threaded connections using appropriate tools. Do not overtighten plastic fittings.
- Tank O-ring: If leaking at the tank neck, remove the control valve and inspect the large tank O-ring. Replace with a new Pentair tank O-ring and lubricate lightly with silicone grease.
- Valve body: If the valve body is cracked, replace the entire Pentair control valve assembly.
- Pressure check: Confirm that system pressure is within Pentair’s specified limits (typically under 100 psi). Install a pressure regulator if needed.
