E13
RainSoft
Timer / Scheduling Fault
E13 error, unit fails to initiate regeneration at scheduled time
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Incorrect time-of-day setting, Regeneration mode set to demand-only with no usage, Failed internal clock, Control board firmware issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No hazardous work required for basic checks.
- 1. Confirm time and day: Verify the time-of-day and day-of-week are correctly set on the display.
- 2. Check regeneration mode: Ensure the unit is set to time clock or metered immediate/delayed as desired. If set to demand-only and water use is low, it may not regenerate on a fixed schedule.
- 3. Verify regeneration time: Confirm the regeneration start time (often 2:00 AM) is correctly programmed and not disabled.
- 4. Perform manual regen: Start a manual regeneration. If the unit will not start even manually, suspect a control board fault.
Resolution: If programming is correct and manual regen works but scheduled regen does not occur, replace the RainSoft control board.
