Possible Causes
Slow drain due to partial blockage, Low water pressure, Motor stalling intermittently, Control timing circuit error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Place the unit in bypass and unplug before servicing.
- 1. Check drain flow: During backwash, observe the drain line. Flow should be strong and steady. If weak, inspect for kinks, clogs, or an undersized drain line.
- 2. Verify water pressure: Measure incoming pressure. If below manufacturer minimum, correct the plumbing or well pump issues.
- 3. Inspect motor and gears: Look for signs of intermittent binding or overheating. Replace worn motor or gears.
- 4. Reset controller: Perform a factory reset and reprogram. Run a full regeneration and time each stage.
Resolution: If mechanical flow is normal but E19 recurs, replace the RainSoft control board.
