Possible Causes
Clogged injector/venturi, Air leak in brine line, Clogged brine well or foot valve, Stuck brine valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Bypass the unit and relieve pressure before opening the valve or brine connections.
- 1. Observe brine level: Mark the brine level before a regeneration. After brine draw, the level should be lower. If unchanged, brine is not being drawn.
- 2. Clean injector/venturi: Remove and clean the RainSoft injector/venturi assembly and screen in vinegar to remove scale and iron.
- 3. Inspect brine line: Check for kinks, loose fittings, or cracks that could allow air to enter. Replace damaged tubing.
- 4. Check brine well foot valve: Remove the brine well cover and lift out the brine pickup assembly. Clean the foot valve and screen of sludge and salt.
- 5. Test suction: During brine draw, place the brine line into a bucket of water. If no suction is felt, the problem is in the injector or valve.
Resolution: After cleaning and reassembly, run another regeneration to confirm proper brine draw.
