How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the control cover.
- 1. Localize noise: Start a manual regeneration and listen closely to identify whether the noise comes from the motor/gear area or the valve body.
- 2. Inspect gears: Remove the cover and visually inspect the cam gears for missing teeth, cracks, or misalignment.
- 3. Tighten mounts: Ensure the motor and gear housing screws are tight and that the assembly is not vibrating against the control housing.
- 4. Replace worn parts: Install a new RainSoft motor and gear kit if gears are damaged or the motor is noisy.
Note: Do not lubricate gears with petroleum products unless specified by RainSoft; use only approved lubricants.
