Possible Causes
Broken internal bypass seals, Misassembled bypass, Cracked bypass body, Debris preventing full opening
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Depressurize the system before removing the bypass assembly.
- 1. Confirm symptom: With the bypass in Service, test hardness at the outlet. If hard, but soft when bypassed externally, the internal bypass is suspect.
- 2. Inspect bypass: Remove the RainSoft bypass assembly from the valve. Check seals and sliding components for damage or misalignment.
- 3. Clean and lubricate: Clean debris and apply silicone grease to O-rings and sliding surfaces.
- 4. Replace if cracked: If the bypass body is cracked or seals are badly worn, replace the entire bypass assembly.
